Moffitt Cancer Center provides bladder cancer treatment for residents of Clearwater, Florida, and other cities across the state and country. Our urologic cancer clinic is made up of surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists and other experts who focus solely on urologic malignancies. And, because Moffitt is a high-volume cancer center, our team has a high level of experience diagnosing and treating all stages of bladder cancer, and this level of expertise leads to a greater chance at favorable outcomes and a positive quality of life for our patients.
The services available at our bladder cancer center include:
- Screening – Though there is currently no ideal form of bladder cancer screening for patients who are not exhibiting any symptoms, high-risk individuals can come to Moffitt to receive screening tests such as a urinalysis, urine cytology or a urine test for tumor markers.
- Diagnostic testing – We offer a number of diagnostic tests for those who are displaying symptoms of bladder cancer, such as frequent urination, pain or a burning sensation during urination, feeling the need to urinate but being unable to do so and lower back or pelvic pain.
- Treatment – Each patient who seeks treatment at Moffitt’s bladder cancer center will receive an individualized treatment plan that has been tailored to address the cellular makeup of their cancer. This plan may consist of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or intravesical therapy.
At Moffitt, our focus extends beyond our patients’ clinical treatment because we understand that undergoing cancer treatment often presents other physical and emotional challenges. For this reason, we have dietitians, social workers, counselors and other supportive care specialists on hand to ensure our patients’ needs are being met. These specialists are located in the same location where patients receive clinical treatment, eliminating the need for patients to move from location to location to get the care they need.
