Moffitt Cancer Center patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) aren’t cared for by just one doctor, but rather an entire multispecialty team. Our Malignant Hematology program features a team of medical oncologists, hematologists, pathologists, surgeons and other MDS doctors who specialize exclusively in MDS, and take a collaborative approach to treatment that focuses on attacking MDS from a variety of angles while comprehensively addressing our patients’ needs.
Beyond our multispecialty team, there are several reasons why Moffitt is considered to be a worldwide leader in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of MDS:
Furthermore, patients in Moffitt’s MDS program have access to a full range of supportive care in the same location. Psychosocial counseling, side effect management, dietary advice and more are provided to our patients to help improve quality of life during the treatment process with an MDS doctor.
