The Magic Number
Judy will be the first to say that ovarian cancer can strike anybody. Ovarian cancer, a silent killer hasn’t won the fight with Judy. Inspired to keep going for her family, she took part in a gold standard treatment plan.
Her Journey
Judy was given a clinical trial during her treatment. She considers this her "magic number" because it gave her a better chance of survival. Her clinical trial was a very unique treatment which combined immunotherapy and chemotherapy into her belly to spike her immune system that killed the cancer.
"I was given the opportunity to participate in a couple of clinical trials and I was excited to participate. I felt not only could the studies help me, but I hoped that others would benefit from these studies."
Some Signs of Ovarian Cancer:
- Pelvic pain
- A quick feeling of fullness after eating
- Constipation or other changes in bowel habits
- Menstrual cycle changes
- Unexplained weight loss
The Path to Recovery
After her trial, Judy is back on her feet, but not without looking back and feeling so grateful for the care she got here at Moffitt.
