Individualized treatment plans from our malignant hematology specialists
When a patient is referred to Moffitt, we will provide a complete diagnostic workup, including staging and pathology services, to get a full picture of the patient’s condition. Then, our malignant hematology specialists – including medical oncologists, hematopathologists and others – will review his or her case to ensure we provide an individualized treatment plan that will give the patient the best chance at reaching a favorable outcome and an improved quality of life. Depending on the specifics of a patient’s malignancy, a treatment plan may consist of a combination of the following:
- Bone marrow transplantation
- Anti-angiogenesis therapy
- Promising clinical trials for eligible patients
At Moffitt, our focus extends beyond clinical treatment. We also tend to our patients’ quality of life. That’s why our patients have access to pain management specialists, dietitians, counselors and other supportive care professionals to help them cope with the challenges of undergoing cancer treatment.
Moffitt welcomes referrals for patients with a confirmed diagnosis as well as those with suspected hematologic conditions. To refer a patient to the malignant hematology specialists at Moffitt, health care providers can complete our online form or contact a physician liaison for assistance or support. We aim to make referral times as short as possible.
